Nadal, Djokovic set up Wimbledon semi-final dual

Wimbledon

As Nadal battled against Del Potro, it seemed as if the grasscourt major would lose its top two seeds as Argentine Del Potro took a two-sets-to-one lead.

Another player who needed a decider was Rafa Nadal, as he squeezed past Juan Martin Del Potro to land us a victor from our recommended bet, but the after-effects of these arduous wins for Anderson and Nadal may not help them in their quest to reach Sunday's final.

"Of course I was anxious when I lost the second set", said Nadal, who had reached the quarter-finals without dropping a set and might have continued that run had he not squandered four set points, including one with a double fault, in the tiebreak.

It was a case of down but definitely not out as a Rafael Nadal kept fighting to make it to the Wimbledon semi-finals with a pulsating 7-5 6-7 (7) 4-6 6-4 6-4 over Juan Martin del Potro.

Djokovic came close to beating Nadal for the first time on clay, only to see the Spaniard save three match points before winning one of the greatest and - at four hours and two minutes - longest three-set matches in history.

Fast food chain Nandos, which originated from South Africa, has pledged to give away free meals to people who share names with the two players, until Anderson is knocked out of the tournament or wins the final.

"I think I won the best point of the match", Del Potro said of his small consolation. "It's a great spotlight on college tennis that one of us is going to be in the Wimbledon final".

Nadal and Djokovic meet for the 52nd time.

That makes for eight of the 13 people who have been trapped under increasingly unsafe conditions since late last month. They are then taken to hospital in Chiang Rai . "We heard four boys are out but we do not know who they are".

Japan, victim families long waiting execution of cult leader
It goes without saying that the other six members of Aum Shinrikyo will equally face the same fate in the near future. Asahara and dozens of his followers were arrested in the months that followed, after police raids across the country.

Djokovic came into the Championships on the back of a frustrating year which was blighted by an elbow injury and saw him slide down the world rankings as a result.

Isner believes the pair's past adds extra intrigue to today's meeting: "For both of us this match-up is especially cool". Del Potro made him pay as he pounced on his first chance to raise the prospect of another upset on day nine.

Simon saved a fourth match point when he threw the kitchen sink at a forehand return and he eventually took his fourth break point to level at 5-5.

"I think I did a lot of things well". My body feels okay. He's always like a big war for me. His US Open win past year was the first time he had won a Grand Slam outside of the French Open since winning the US Open in 2013. He's playing well. Only way to try to win it is play very well.

"I felt like it was getting better and better as time went on".

"Anything could have happened, so this is a big achievement for me to get to the semi-finals at Wimbledon".

"I am very happy the way that I survived a lot of important points in that fifth set", Nadal said.

Nadal is bidding to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year for the third time and equal Bjorn Borg's all-time record.
